Here are some design team samples.  Sherrie made this baby girl ensemble with her Creatopia and stamps from Baby Dear.  Its like something you’d see in an upscale boutique!

And here is a card by Joanne featuring an image from Baby Dear and a sentiment from Vintage Baby Expressions.  I just love the little details, like one sock off.  My babies could never keep their socks on!

And another sweet pairing of an image from Baby Dear and a sentiment from Vintage Baby Expressions from Jean.  A sleeping baby means a rest for mommy.  Ahhh.

Supplies:

Cornish Heritage Farms Penguin With Hat stamp; Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Copics; Stardust Stickles; Cornish Heritage Farms Simply Smooth White cardstock; K&Co Christmas Cheer red glitter paper; Nestabilities Pinking Circles die; 3 7/8″ x 11 7/8″ styrofoam cone; decorative pot which will fit the base of the cone; bobby pins; toothpick; stack of cash (I used 30 $1 bills)

Instructions:

To make the money “leaves”, accordian fold each bill lengthwise.

Insert the folded bill through the bobby pin and fan open.

Stick the cone in the pot.  No need to use adhesive, just stick it in until it feels snug.  Now push the pointy ends of the bobby pin with one of your money leaves into the tree.  Keep making money leaves and sticking them into the cone until you’ve covered the tree.

This part is tedious and time consuming.  Enlist help of your husband and kids.  Anyone can accordion fold the dollars!  To fill this cone I needed 30 bills.  They make shorter cones if you want to use less money.  You can, of course, use $5’s or $10’s to give more money.

Now make the topper.

Stamp Penguin With Hat, color, and coat his hat with the Stickles for a little extra sparkle.  Cut 2 pinking circles out of the glitter paper.  Use strong adhesive, such as Zip Dry, to sandwich a toothpick between the 2 glitter circles.  When dry, adhere the cut out Penguin to the front of the topper.

And here is the finished tree.

Today’s release is called “In The Forest” and just as you would imagine it has lots of great images that you would find in a forest.  But the thing that I love about the “Scene It” sets is how well they all work together!  This new set works perfectly with many of the previously released sets.  If you’re a scene making junky like me or you just like to have the flexibilitiy to add an extra tree here and there to another image, this will be a must have set for you too!

I have a couple of samples to share with you.  This first one uses the deer and one of the trees from the set.  The sentiment is from Mona Lisa Moments, “Encouragement Expressions”.

Then just for fun I wanted to try and use these trees in an unexpected way so I added them to my “Turtle Sled” and came up with this fun card!

This image became much more fun with the addition of three trees and two birds from this new set.  I hope these samples have helped to get your juices flowing!  There are a few more in the gallery for you to check out too!

For today’s tutorial I thought it would be fun to make a shaker card with a Scene it set.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Stamps:
-By the Seashore (Scene It!)
Paper:
-CHF Simply Smooth white
-Patterned Paper (I used Cosmo Cricket)
-Solid Paper (I used Prism Sunflower Light)
Ink:
-Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink by Tsukineko
-Adirondack Aqua dye ink by Ranger
-Copic Markers
Other:
-Clear Cardstock
-sand
-Nestabilities by Spellbinder
-EK Success Scallop Punch

Step 1:
Stamp the “beach” in black ink on a 4″ x 4″ piece of white paper.

Step 2:
Create a “mask” by stamping the “beach” image on a post it note.  Cut out the image and use it to cover the beach you stamped on the white paper.  Stamp the “ocean” on your image.

Step 3:
Complete the scene by stamping the trees and the birds.  Stamps the pheasant lady on a white scrap of paper.  Color both of these images and set aside.

Step 4:
Cut a square of  patterned paper 5″ x 5″.   Used the scallop punch on one side of a 2 1/2″ by 5″ strip of solid paper and then adhere to the front of the square panel.  It should look like this when you are done.

Step 5:
Use a nestabilities dye to cut a “window” out of the square panel as shown.

Step 6:
Adhere a piece of clear cardstock/Acetate to the back side of the panel to cover the “window” you’ve created.

Step 7:
Flip panel back over.  Stamp sentiment in black ink on top of yellow strip.  Cut out pheasant woman and adhere to the front.  Add shell dye, sticker, or other embelishment as you wish.  Set aside.

Step 8:
Create a 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ top folding card out of solid paper.  Adhere colored seashore image to the front of the card as shown.

Step 9:
Go back to the “window” panel and adhere double sided dimensional tape all around the edges of the cut out window.

Step 10:
Pour a tiny amount of sand over the seashore scene and then adhere the “window panel to the front of the card.  Push down firmly so that none of the sand spills out.  They sell “sand” at most craft stores.  Now you have a very fun shaker card to give to someone special!

Our first stop is a new set from the GM line called, “You Drive Me Crazy”.

Isn’t is chock full of retro fun?! The sentiments are a hoot! It instantly conjures up bright colors and images of drive-ins and soda fountains. Kristine created some fun samples for you. Here’s something groovy…

I love the colors she went with on this sample. Oh, and the houndstooth, how perfect!

Are the wheels turning yet?? They are sure to go into overdrive after our second stop,  the next train set from the B&O line called, “Silhouette Train”.

This set has so much to offer and as you will see, so many possibilities.

Jean used primary colors to create her own background paper on this card fit for the boys. Isn’t she so clever? I have a few nephews that would love this.

I have decided that Joanne is the Master of Masking! Check out this awesome black and white card…

One of my favorite images in the set is the conductor and the kids silhouette. Here is a card I made that isn’t so train themed…

Readers…meet “Dancing Snowman”…

Isn’t he just so adorable? He has jolly written all over him. The design team has whipped up some fantastic cards to get your creative juices flowing.

I can’t help but smile when I see this snowman. Actually, I have a confession to make… I have a thing for snowmen. I am not sure I have seen one yet that I didn’t like, but this one is near the top of my list! What do you think? Did his cheeky smile get you too?? I think he would look great on a spinner card!

Today I have the lastest release from Thomas Kinkade to share with you, called “Victorian Light”. 

Kristine created this sample, showing off all the wonderful details in vivid color. She chose a sentiment from the set  “Beacon of Hope”  (Scene It Line) which compliments the stamp perfectly.

Joanne went with the spotlight technique on her sample. I like how the lighthouse stands out on an otherwise monochromatic card!  The sentiment on her card also happens to come from the “Beacon of Hope” set.
